New Zealand Police is pleased to announce that the 376-recruit wing will be graduating from their initial training course on Thursday 1 August in front of whānau and friends.

Attending the ceremony will be Commissioner Andrew Coster and the Police executive, The Hon Nicole McKee, Minister for Courts and the Associate Minister of Justice, along with Wing Patron, Simon Dallow.

Simon Dallow is a well-known television news presenter, but his link to the Police whānau is not so widely known.

“Ours was a police family – there’s no other way to put it,” said Simon. “We grew up living in police houses next to community stations… our lives revolved around the New Zealand Police.”

That’s because his father Ross Dallow and his uncle Graeme Dallow each served Police for more than 40 years, with Ross finishing his career as Waitematā District Commander and Graeme as an Assistant Commissioner. A mere 242 wings ago, Graeme was also a patron, to Recruit Wing 134.

Wing 376’s prize-winners are spread across four policing jurisdictions, namely Wellington, Tasman, Southern, and Northland Districts.

More details about statistics, prize winners and other recruits will be shared on graduation day.

Media are welcome to attend the graduation parade which takes place at Te Rauparaha Arena, Main Arena, 17 Parumoana Street, Porirua.

The ceremony starts at 2pm, media are encouraged to be in place by 1.40pm.

RSVP: Any media wishing to attend the graduation should contact the Police Media Centre as soon as possible:  media@police.govt.nz
