Annual Report 2023
Police's Annual Report for 2022/23 has been tabled at Parliament.
The Report details our performance during 2022/23 against our strategic goals and the Commissioner’s three priorities.
The Annual Report recognises the significant achievement of our staff, and demonstrates our ability to deliver on our promises, and how we continue to build trust and confidence in our communities.
Highlights of the 2022/23 year as at 30 June 2023 included:
- Police prevented $513,149,304 of social harm from the illicit drug trade.
- We restrained an estimated $86.33 million worth of assets, in the ongoing focus on disrupting organised crime and preventing harm in communities.
- Police conducted 2,629,040 breath tests.
- Operation Cobalt – a long-term nationally coordinated operation focused on addressing unlawful behaviour and intimidation by gang members that affects the public’s sense of safety resulted in:
- 1,205 Search Warrants and 738 warrantless searches
- 41,806 charges, across a number of differing crime types
- 53,848 (traffic related) Infringement Offence Notices
- 431 firearms seized.
