Two arrests have been made as part of an ongoing investigation into a firearms incident in Clover Park last month.
The incident occurred on the evening of 2 May, where a man suffered an injury when a firearm was discharged outside a property on Clutha Crescent.
Acting Detective Inspector Mike Hayward, of Counties Manukau CIB, says Police executed search warrants today as part of the investigation.
“We have arrested two people as a result of today’s action and they will face serious charges in court.
“The man and woman, aged 18 and 60, are expected in the Manukau District Court this afternoon.”
Both have been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, acting Detective Inspector Hayward says.
“We hope today’s arrests bring some reassurance to the community as a result.
“Police do not tolerate these sorts of incidents where firearms are used in our communities, and we will investigate any offending to hold offenders accountable.”
Police enquiries are continuing, and further charges cannot be ruled out at this point.
