UPDATE - Favona homicide

Police continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the death of a 49-year-old man in Favona on Sunday morning.
 
The scene examination continues today, and a post-mortem will be conducted this morning. 
 
Police are not in a position to release his name at this time.
 
In relation to this investigation, a 37-year-old man has been charged with assault and is due to appear in the Manukau District Court today.
 
The investigation remains ongoing and we are unable to rule out further charges being laid.
