Mahia Police station will be opened tomorrow, January 14 by the Commissioner of Police, Mike Bush and the Minister of Police the Hon Stuart Nash.
The ceremony will take place at noon-midday at its new site on Newcastle Street, beside the Mahia Fire Station.
Tairawhiti Police made the decision to move the Nuhaka Station to Mahia in May last year, which was supported by both communities.
The shift took place on Tuesday 26 November, with the site in Mahia being blessed and the police station transported.
The station has been operational at the new site since mid-December 2019.
