Police can now confirm the identity of a body that was located in the water near Auckland’s CBD on Monday.
A post mortem was completed yesterday and the deceased man has been formally identified as James Harley David Jenkins, aged 24, from Auckland, who went missing after going into the water on October 7, 2019.
Our sympathies are with his family at this difficult time.
His death has been referred to the Coroner.
Police enquiries into this incident are ongoing in relation to the two men who were talking to him before he has gone into the water.
