Four people have been arrested following a two-month long investigation into the abduction of a woman in Central Wellington.
The incident occurred in the Central Business District in the early hours of Wednesday 13 March.
“A team of officers and Police support staff have been working diligently since this incident took place and today conducted two search warrants – one in central Wellington, the other in the eastern suburbs,” Detective Senior Sergeant Warwick McKee says.
“Four people have been arrested and a number of vehicles seized.
“This is a positive result but the investigation continues.”
Two men, aged 27 and 30, have been charged with wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and kidnapping.
Two women, aged 26 and 35, have been charged with kidnapping.
All four are due to appear in Wellington District Court this afternoon.
“Police are committed to ensuring everyone in the community can be safe and feel safe,” Detective Senior Sergeant McKee says.
“That’s why we’re still talking to a number of witnesses and we expect to make further arrests in the coming days.”
