A 33-year-old man has been charged in relation to an incident in Richmond, Christchurch where a man discharged a firearm at Police and was shot in the lower body.
The incident occurred on 26 February.
The man has been charged with failing to stop, assault with a weapon, unlawful possession of a firearm and using a firearm against a law enforcement officer.
The charges will be heard in Christchurch District Court this afternoon.
No further comment will be made by Police while the case is before the court.
