Update: East Tamaki homicide investigation

Police remain at an East Tamaki factory today, as they investigate the death of a 19-year-old Manurewa man at the factory last night. 
 
An 18-year-old man has been arrested and charged with assault with a weapon in relation to the man’s death.   He is scheduled to appear in Manukau District Court today.   
 
The two men were colleagues at a labour hire company.     
 
We will be conducting a scene examination at the factory today alongside forensic experts from ESR. 
 
We are also continuing to speak to others who were in the factory at the time of the man’s death. 
 
Further charges may be laid as the investigation progresses but Police are not seeking anyone else in relation to the death.
