Suspicious fires in South Auckland overnight

Counties Manukau Police are investigating a number of suspicious fires.

Police were called to four separate fires throughout the evening.

The first was a portacom fire on Hingaia Road in Karaka at around 7.30pm.

A show home on McPherson Road in Drury was extensively damaged by a fire at 10pm.

Police were called to a classroom fire at Puni School at 10.37pm and on Blake Road in Puni growers crates were on fire at 11.40pm.

Extra Police units were sent to the area overnight and enquiries are ongoing.

Anyone who was in the areas at the time of the fires and saw anything out of the ordinary is being urged to contact Counties Manukau Police on (09) 261 1300 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
