It's a 'first' all round
Today marks the first day that 39 new Police Constables start their police career after their graduation yesterday.
But it is not the only ‘first’ for these graduates as Prime Minister, Rt. Hon. John Key, attended the graduation ceremony in the absence of Police Minister Anne Tolley.
This was the first time the Prime Minister has attended a graduation at the college which makes it an even more memorable event for the new Constables.
The Prime Minister was joined by Wing 274’s Patron, Sir Bruce Ferguson, and Police Commissioner Peter Marshall.
While at the Police College attending the graduation ceremony, the Prime Minister also took time to visit the memorial for the 29 officers who have died in the line of duty.
