1 min read

Following yesterday’s appeal, the missing Timaru woman Nicole Smith has been located safe and well.

Just after 5am today, she was picked up by a member of the public on a rural road, 20kms west of Timaru.

She was taken to Timaru Police Station and is receiving support.

Just before 7am, with the assistance of the AOS, a 35-year-old Timaru man was arrested without incident for kidnapping and breach of a protection order.

“We are pleased there has been a resolution following our appeal yesterday. Our investigation will continue into the exact circumstances of the incident,” says Detective Inspector Darryl Sweeney.

“The community played an important role in this appeal. Canterbury Police would like to thank them for their support,” says Mr Sweeney.
