Two men arrested and charged with murder of Clayton Ratima

Statement to be attributed to Detective Inspector F'aa Vaaelua, Counties Manukau Police

Counties Manukau Police have arrested and charged two men in relation to the death of Clayton Ratima, earlier this year.

The two men, aged 31 and 32 years old, were arrested early this morning and will appear in the Manukau District Court this morning, charged with murder. 

Clayton Ratima was dropped off at Middlemore Hospital on the afternoon of Sunday 21 February. He died from his injuries a few days later. 

"The family and friends of Mr Ratima have been told this morning about the arrests we've made. They're appreciative of the result achieved by the investigation team" says Det Insp Vaaelua.

The case is now before the courts and Police are not able to comment any further at this stage.
