Detective Inspector Kevin Burke will hold a brief media stand up at Whangarei Police Station at 1:00pm to provide an update on the homicide investigation into the death of a 37-year-old man.
Police were called to Whangarei St John Ambulance Station at around 6.40am yesterday morning and were informed by ambulance staff that the man had been dropped off in a critical condition and died shortly after.
Scene examinations are continuing this morning at two addresses of interest and at the St Johns Ambulance Station.
The post-mortem will also take place this morning.
No further update will be provided before 1:00pm
