Police on the West Coast are continuing to make progress in their investigation into a fire at a commercial premises on Donovan Drive, Franz Josef.
The next stage of the inquiry will be for staff to enter the building, shown in the photographs.
“The structure is currently unstable. We need to ensure the building is safe to enter before we can send in staff to continue their inquiries,” says acting West Coast Area Commander, Senior Sergeant Vicki Walker.
“The building has been defined as an area of interest for the investigation team.
“As previously stated, with the information we have gathered at this stage, Police do not believe that there is a risk to any other person following the incident last night,” she says.
Police intend to provide a further media update when we are in a position to do so.
