At approximately 9:30pm last night, a man was admitted to Christchurch Hospital with a gunshot wound to his thigh.
The exact circumstances surrounded the incident are unclear at this stage.
The victim's injury is not life threatening and he is in a stable condition.
Police will conduct a scene examination today at the private rural address.
