Police have now arrested a 38 year-old male after a domestic incident which occurred overnight.
The male was located this morning at an address in Rangiora and staff were deployed to the area.
As a precautionary measure, and to ensure the safety of staff, Armed Offender Squad members assisted local police to arrest the male.
Police would like to reassure the public that there is no concerns for their safety and police are not looking for anyone else in relation to the incident.
