On the road - for 75 years!
On the road - for 75 years!
Our intrepid relayers are continuing their journeys south and north to mark 75 years of women in policing in New Zealand.
The relays set off from Cape Reinga and Bluff on Friday 24 June and participants are carrying the custom-made torches through every police district and engaging in community events before handing over to the next crew.
The torches have visited numerous iconic locations, taken part in big community events and reached new heights – the northern torch being taken on a parachute jump from Whenuapai and the southern one in Queenstown’s famed gondola.
The northern and southern relays meet in Wellington, where participants will join the national parade through the city – from Civic Square to Parliament - on Monday 1 August.
