Canterbury Police are calling on motorists to reduce their speed on SH1 at the intersection with Weedons Ross Road, near Rolleston due to road works.
A speed limit of 30km/h is in place in the area due to the roadworks.
Police say the reduced speed is there for a reason with the safety or road works and drivers a priority.
