Investigation continues into Rakaia death

Canterbury Police are continuing their investigation into the death of a female after her body was located, on Main Rakaia Road (close to State Highway One) on Sunday evening. 

The road remains closed today as police and forensic specialists carry out a detailed examination of the scene.

Police do advise that the scene may take some time to examine and the road could be closed for a number of days.

Police are also interested in speaking with individuals who were in a car near the scene shortly before 7.40pm on Sunday evening, also anyone who was in the general Rakaia area yesterday and noticed anything suspicious or any fires in the area.
