Police can now release the name of the man who died following an alleged shooting in Papakura early this morning.
He was Shon Tyson Wanahi aged 26-years-old.
He was originally from Taranaki but had been living in Papakura for many years.
Shon's family have asked for privacy at this difficult time and do not want to be contacted by media.
We ask that media respect this request and allow them time to grieve in private.
A 28-year-old man charged with his alleged murder will appear in the Manukau District Court on Monday, not Papakura District Court.
