Police are continuing their investigations at an address in Reynolds Street, Taita today following a shooting at the property overnight.
Police would like to emphasise that, based on the information available, we do not believe there to be an ongoing risk to public safety in relation to this event.
While we are still working through witness accounts, it appears this incident is related to underlying tensions between two groups.
The victim is undergoing surgery and is currently in a stable condition in hospital.
Police would like to hear from any witnesses in the area who may have seen or heard anything suspicious in the lead up to or following the shooting that occurred at approximately midnight last night.
