Police, including the Armed Offenders Squad, executed a search warrant at approximately 6:30am Thursday morning in Ohiri Road, Brooklyn.
Police were searching for Ben IMLACH who was being sought for a Parole Recall Warrant.
Mr Imlach was deemed to pose a low to moderate risk but information was received that he may have access to firearms. Accordingly, AOS was utilised to ensure the safety of both attending Police and members of the local community while the search warrant was being carried out.
Mr Imlach has now been arrrested and will be transferred to Rimutaka Prison.
