Following the crash on Main Road, Fairfield, Police now advise an 86 year old Dunedin male has died as a result of injuries sustained following being struck by a vehicle whilst crossing the road.
The driver of the vehicle a 88 year old Mosgiel male was uninjured as a result of the crash.
A Southern District Serious Crash Investigator, Dunedin CIB and Police have completed the scene examination. Enquiries into the cause are continuing.
The road which was down to one lane is now open.
