Fatal car crash overnight in Mangawhai

At 12.40am this morning Police were called to a car crash on Insley Street, Mangawhai. 

A car had veered off the road, hit rocks and flipped into the mangroves.    Emergency services attended but the man died at the scene.    The driver, a man aged in his forties, was the only occupant of the car.    The Waitemata Serious Crash Unit is investigating the cause of the crash.   Police are now in the process of informing the man's next of kin and offering them support.    The victim's name will be released once this process is complete.    ENDS
