Can I get a conviction removed from my record?
If you committed a less serious offence more than seven years ago, you may be able to get a ‘clean slate’. This will automatically happen if you have no further convictions and meet all other criteria. A clean slate means you can conceal convictions in most circumstances in New Zealand. This will continue as long as you meet all the criteria. More information is available on the Ministry of Justice website’s section on criminal records.
