Wellington Police are praising crowd behaviour as a good natured crowd turned out to enjoy the sunshine and some great cricket from New Zealand at Westpac Stadium this afternoon.
Operation Commander Inspector Brett Amas said the fixture had gone without a hitch thanks to close cooperation between Police, Westpac Stadium and ICC Cricket World Cup organisers.
"Only four people were evicted from the stadium for alcohol-related breaches. There were no arrests made or any significant incidents requiring Police assistance."
"Everyone has been able to enjoy a safe and fun day of cricket which has been topped off with a win for New Zealand."
"We are hopeful that the great atmosphere from the game is a promising sign for everyone having a safe and enjoyable night in the capital."
