Canterbury Police stopped a blue Nissan Fairlady near Tower Junction shortly before 12 noon today after it was identified as being stolen. The driver, who fled the scene on foot, was apprehended without incident by Canterbury AOS who were assisting other officers in the area.
The 23 year old man will appear in Christchurch District Court tomorrow on multiple charges including two WTAs, failing to stop, theft of a motor vehicle, dangerous driving, driving while forbidden, possession of a knife and theft of petrol.
Canterbury Police investigations into the incident are continuing.
