A 42-year-old woman has died this morning after crashing her motor scooter at Omapere.
The crash occurred about 9.30am. The Serious Crash Unit will be investigating the cause of the crash. At this stage it appears that the scooter has left the road and hit a tree.
Police will not be releasing the name of the woman until next of kin have been notified.
The road toll for Northland this year now stands at four.
