Canterbury Police, who executed a series of search warrants at three Christchurch addresses today, have arrested and charged a 31 year old man with Possession of Methamphetamine for Supply. He will appear in Christchurch District Court tomorrow.
The Officer in Charge of Canterbury’s Organised Crime Unit, Acting Detective Senior Sergeant Greg COTTAM, said "The three search warrants resulted from ongoing Police investigations to disrupt the supply of methamphetamine in Canterbury. After AOS, Police Dogs and Handlers had secured the properties, Police recovered methamphetamine, precursor substances to manufacture methamphetamine, ammunition, a pistol, and two stolen vehicles from the three properties.”
Police say further charges are likely as a result of what was found during the search warrants.
"Police will continue to act to prevent the availability of drugs such as methamphetamine reaching the streets in our District. Our aim is to prevent the destructive and social harm caused by methamphetamine dealing." explained Acting Detective Senior Sergeant COTTAM.
Canterbury Police encourage anyone who can provide information about drug dealing in the District to contact them. Disrupting supply of this destructive drug will help prevent the harm and crime the illegal drug trade supports.
Anyone with information can contact Police on 03 363 7400.
