At approximately 12.30pm today Waikato Police Search and Rescue teams located the body of a man where the Puriri Stream meets the Waihou River.
The man is yet to be formally identified.
There is no further information available at this time.
Thames Police still wish to hear from anybody who may have any information about the movements of 18 year-old John Balchin who went missing in the Puriri area yesterday afternoon. Members of the public can contact Senior Sergeant Graham Shields at Thames Police on 07 211 6224.
