A 25 year-old man received serious facial injuries after being assaulted on Queen Street, Auckland City, in the early hours of this morning. The attack occurred at about around 2.05am outside ACG city campus, which is near the intersection of Mayoral Drive and Queen St.
The victim, who had been drinking prior to the assault, was pulled to the ground by a man who repeatedly stomped on his head. The offender then ran off up Queen Street followed by unknown member of the public who appeared to be chasing him.
Police would like to locate and speak to the pursuer who was wearing a two-tone hoodie top.
The offender has been described as having very dark coloured skin, shoulder-length hair and was wearing a hoodie-style top.
The victim received several facial injuries, including a fractured eye socket, was hospitalised and will be receiving ongoing treatment.
