Launch of 2014 Queen's Birthday weekend road safety campaign

Police, supported by its partner agencies, will on Thursday 29 May launch its "Make it to Monday" road safety campaign, which features a significant visual media event in Wellington.

The event will include the release of a new video of children talking candidly about road safety, and a powerful outdoor display to mark the lives lost on the roads during 2013.

Morning tea will be provided.

Minister of Police Hon. Anne Tolley; Acting Commissioner Viv Rickard; Assistant Commissioner Road Policing Dave Cliff; NZ Transport Agency CEO Geoff Dangerfield (on behalf of the National Road Safety Committee), other road safety agency representatives.

Where

Makaro room, Te Wharewaka o Poneke function centre, 15 Jervois Quay, Wellington waterfront. Outdoor display in Odlin's Square (in front of Wharewaka).

When

9.15am: Doors open.

 

9.30am: Event begins.

 

9.30am–9.45am: Brief speeches. 

 

9.45am: Video unveiled.

 

9.50am: Speakers available for media.

 

10.30am: Event concludes.
