Operation Lynsey Update
The search for missing Birkdale woman Blesilda (Blessie) Gotingco continues today, with no significant developments in the investigation overnight.
Investigators will today return to the area where Blessie's belongings were found early on sunday morning and continue the area canvass, speaking with people in the immediate and extended areas.
Police are also continuing to work through information and sightings gathered during yesterday's scene examination, search of the area, and the information gathered from numerous people over the course of yesterday's work.
Enquiries with Birkenhead Transport, the bus company that runs the route Blessie would have used if she caught the bus are continuing, as investigators look to confirm her movements on Saturday night.
Police are still appealing for anyone who caught the bus on Saturday night from Auckland City to Birkdale, on a number 973 or 974 bus, especially those passengers who were on the buses departing at 7.05pm or 7.45pm.
The 0508 number is now up and running, that number is 0508 LYNSEY (0508 596 739) and a number of calls have come in on that line from members of the public since this morning.
Blessie's family are understandably very worried and are coping as best as can be expected. It is not anticipated that they will speak to the media today.
Detective Senior Sergeant Stan Brown will hold a press conference today at the North Shore Policing Centre at 3pm.
He will update media on any developments between now and then.
Please assemble in the public counter at the NSPC by no later than 2.55pm.
