Police have released the name of the female motorist who died in a single vehicle crash near Kaiapoi this morning.
She was Linda Joy Glendenning, aged 20, of Rangiora.
The crash is believed to have occurred between approximately 8.00am and 8.15am today on South Eyre Road between Burgesses Road and Mabers Road.
An investigation into the cause of the crash is continuing, and Police say at this stage it is not clear what has caused the vehicle to lose control, causing it to cross the centre line and strike a tree on the other side of the road.
