The name of a truck driver who lost his life in a collision with a passenger train in the North Waikato yesterday morning has been released.
Waikato District Road Policing Manager, Inspector Freda Grace, said the deceased was 28-year-old Cory James CLEMENTS of Hamilton.
"As stated yesterday, this crash is the subject of a number of investigations and it will be several weeks before these are completed.
"This incident was a tragedy not only for the man's family, who Police wish to extend their condolences to, but also work colleagues working close by and those in the vicinity of the crash and on board the train have been offered Victim Support should they require assistance."
