Police investigating the aggravated robbery of a German tourist in central Christchurch last Saturday would like to speak to a group of four young people who may have information about the incident.
Investigators have release security camera images of the group, taken at the Bus Exchange on Lichfield Street around the time of the incident, which occurred at approximately 1.25am on Saturday [4 January].
Detective Sergeant Joel Syme says the group of two males and two females may not necessarily have been involved in the incident.
"They are simply persons of interest, as they were in the vicinity of the Bus Exchange before and after the robbery.
"We are keen to speak to them as they may have seen something, or may have information that can help us identify the offenders.
"We are appealing for them to contact police as soon as possible, so that we can see if they can assist us and to eliminate them from our enquiries. Similarly, if anyone can help identify these four young people we also ask them to contact police."
The tourist has reported being attacked by three males.
