The 36 year-old man wanted in connection with last night's attack on a Police officer in Otara presented himself to Police tonight after significant publicity and commendable efforts by Pacific Island Police liaison staff.
Walter Tauatevalu has been arrested and will appear in the Manukau District Court tomorrow charged in relation to the alleged attack.
Detective Inspector Jim Gallagher thanked the local community and Police colleagues for their efforts on this matter over the past 22 hours.
