Police investigating an incident at the Takanini Liquor Bargain last week have arrested two suspects and charged them with aggravated robbery. A 25 year old man and 23 year old man, both from South Auckland, were seen on CCTV footage entering the liquor store at about 8:45pm on Thursday 25 July. One suspect presented a firearm and threatened to shoot the victims, one of whom suffered a broken jaw and the other a fractured eye socket.
Police would like to thank the public for their assistance in identifying the offenders. Both offenders were apprehended after being recognised in CCTV images that have been made public since the incident.
Police are still seeking the dark coloured Mazda Familia that the offenders drove, the firearm used in this robbery, as well as the money that was stolen from the store.
Police would like to hear from anyone who has information that may lead to the recovery of the firearm or stolen cash.
