Police are investigating the death of a 23 year-old man who was killed early this morning by a falling tree in the Waitara area.
The man was carrying out tree felling work when it appears that part of a tree he was felling fell on him.
The matter is being referred to the coroner, and to OSH for further investigation.
Police will not release the name or any other details about the man until next of kin has been informed.
