Christchurch Police advise that a 29 year old woman sought after fleeing a city beauty clinic without paying for treatment has been arrested.

The woman was located in Richmond, near Nelson, yesterday, and was interviewed by Richmond Police this morning.

The woman has been charged with obtaining by deception, and will appear in the Nelson District Court next Monday [22 August].

The woman was sought after it was alleged that she visited a city beauty clinic on 28 July, completed a client consent form, had a number of "before treatment" photographs taken and received a $780.00 Botox treatment. After the treatment she allegedly told staff her wallet was in her car, left the premises, and was last seen running down the road.

A photograph of the woman, taken by the clinic before the treatment was provided, was published in news media on Tuesday and police received several calls from members of the public identifying the person.

Senior Constable Helen Mahon-Stroud of Papanui Police, says the outstanding public response was key to achieving an early arrest in the case.
