Police investigating the disappearance of Brett Hall in Whanganui are issuing a CCTV image giving a more recent indication of Mr Hall's appearance and asking for the driver of a white ute to come forward.
The image being released was captured on Wednesday 25 May, less than a week before he was reported missing, at a service station in Palmerston North.
It shows Mr Hall clean shaven with short cropped hair. We know that on 16 May his hair was thicker and he had a moustache so at some stage between the 16th and the 25th he has hair his hair cut and shaved off the moustache.
In the image he is seen wearing a check shirt over a singlet with black shorts and jandals. Enquiries with those who know Mr Hall suggest that black shorts and a check shirt are his typical attire on a daily basis.
Detective Senior Sergeant Dave Kirby said: "We hope releasing this more up-to-date image will help us to identify more people who may have seen Mr Hall, spoken to him or served him in a shop, so that we can continue piecing together his movements before he disappeared."
Police also want to hear from the driver of a white flat deck ute that was seen by a passing motorist leaving the track which leads to Mr Hall's property around 7pm on the evening of Sunday, 29 May. It pulled out onto Whanganui River Road and headed towards Whanganui.
"We've made it quite clear through the public appeal that we want to hear from anyone who has visited Brett's property recently but no-one has come forward to tell us there were they on the Sunday night. It is important they do so as we need to know whether Mr Hall was at the property that evening and we need to eliminate that vehicle from our enquiries.
"If that driver doesn't come forward we would have to consider its presence at the property as suspicious," said Senior Sergeant David Kirby.
Searches in the area of his Whanganui property are continuing today, albeit not aided by extreme wet weather. Searching will also continue throughout the weekend.
