Police in Feilding are appealing for information following an armed robbery at a bank.
The incident happened at approximately 12.45pm today (Tuesday, 25 January) at BNZ bank on the corner of Fergusson Street and Manchester Street.
The offender parked a red motorbike on the footpath at the intersection, left it running, and entered the bank still wearing their full-face motorbike helmet. They approached a cashier presented a handgun and demanded money.
A quantity of cash was handed over and the offender left the bank and rode off along Manchester Street in the direction of South Street.
No-one was injured during the incident, although the female cashier was left shaken.
For investigative reasons Police are not releasing the amount of cash stolen.
The offender was caucasian and slim, wearing blue overalls which appeared new and slightly too big, black footwear and a red full-faced motorbike helmet. It is not clear whether the robber was male or female.
An area search has been completed and enquiries are ongoing.
Police want to hear from anyone who saw the offender, witnessed the robbery or has any other information that may assist the investigation. Police are also keen to hear from anyone who has recently sold blue overalls to someone fitting the description.
