Woman dies in quad bike accident near Kaikohe

A 65-year-old woman has died after a quad bike has rolled on her at a farm near Kaikohe about 1.30pm yesterday.

The deceased woman was riding the bike towing a trailer load of haylage.
It is believed that the woman has attempted to negotiate a steep part of a hill resulting in the bike overturning and landing on her.

She was trapped under the bike for sometime before being discovered by a family member.

Police and the Labour Department (OSH) are conducting investigations in to the accident.
