Christchurch police have launched an investigation after a spate of vandalism around the Wigram community.
Senior Sergeant Peter Laloli says there have been several attacks on different properties, buildings and heavy machinery that have caused thousands of dollars of damage.
“We are following a line of inquiry and will take all steps required to identify and charge these criminals. The attacks have damaged equipment that could have caused serious accidents and injury to workers. It is just plain stupid.”
The police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them or to call if they see any suspicious activity in the area.
