Police in Palmerston North are trying to trace the owner of a ring believed to be valued around $3,500.
The ring came in to police possession after two local teenagers attempted to sell it at Cash Converters on 29 December. There is no record of anyone having reported the ring either lost or stolen and enquiries to date suggest it is possible the ring was lost in The Square.
The ring is described as a gold band with a sapphire stone set between two solitaire diamonds.
Anyone who believes this is their ring will have to provide proof of ownership to claim it.
If this ring is yours or you have any information on how these teenagers obtained it contact Palmerston North Police on 06 351 3600.
