At approximately 12.45 pm on Thursday 24th day of December 2009 a 4 weel drive vehicle lost control on a moderate right hand bend on Rangitukia Road Tikitiki. The vehicle flipped several times before colliding with a power pole.
Two male occupants of the vehicle died at the scene. Police have yet to confirm their identity.
There were four persons in the vehicle and a third person had serious to moderate injuries and required hospital treatment.
Police fire and ambulance are attending and serious crash investigators are on sight.
Rangitukia Road has been closed off and will be for at least the next two hours.
