New Brighton police are investigating a fatal car crash which occurred at about 6.20 pm on Wednesday 16 September 2009.
The crash happened on Estuary Road in New Brighton when a car travelling in a southerly direction collided with a power pole.
Three occupants of the car were killed as a result; they are two women aged 60 years and 68 years respectively and a three year old girl.
All of the occupants were visiting New Zealand from the United Kingdom.
The male driver in his 60's sustained non life threatening injuries and has been hospitalised. Fatigue is likely to be a factor in the crash.
