Name suppression for a Massey man accused of two counts of meeting a young person under 16 following sexual grooming on the Internet, was lifted today in the Auckland District Court.
Kelvin Andrew Martin, a 48 year-old administrator, was arrested by the Auckland City District's Child Exploitation Team (CET) and Waitakere Child Abuse Team detectives in Gribblehirst Park on December 11, 2007.
It's alleged he had gone there to meet a 14 year-old girl for sex, having made the arrangement via his Yahoo chat rooms.
Detective Stephen Waugh of the CET says he believes Mr Martin may have had contact with other young people via the chat rooms throughout 2007.
"Anyone who believes they have information that should be reported to Police should contact myself on 09 302 6855 or colleagues at Auckland Central Police Station."
Detective Waugh was the officer who operated a decoy profile that resulted in a Canberra teacher being apprehended by Australian Federal Police for similar offences, in January this year.
