Wellington Police are appealing for sightings of a central city busker who has been missing from his home for the last two weeks.
Detective Constable Mike Stone, Wellington CIB, says Mr Tawhai Robert Reihana, aged 37, left his Hankey Street home on Sunday morning, 24 February to go with his wife to the local Victoria Street market. The couple separated in the crowd and Mrs Reihana went home alone. She became concerned when her husband failed to return.
Mr Reihana doesn't have the financial means to support himself, doesn't have a cellphone, and when last seen was carrying his guitar in a black guitar case. He's regularly busks for money in places like Cuba Mall, Courtenay Place, Lambton Quay and the Railway Station but hasn't been seen in recent days.
Mr Reihana's family initially thought he might be taking some 'time out' but they are becoming increasingly worried that he hasn't been in touch. Police and his family would like to know that he is okay.
Mr Reihana has brown eyes, short black hair, is 177cm tall, of medium build a clean shaven. When last seen he was wearing a dark wool jersey, grey trousers, sneakers, his wedding ring and carrying his guitar case.
